Flow Design Principals Teach “Inspired by Architecture” Class at Boston Collegiate Charter School!


SALEM, MA, May 3rd, 2018 –Flow Design’s Principals Darguin Fortuna Bachelor of Architecture of Salem and Marcos Severino Bachelor of Architecture of New Salem were invited to teach several architectural workshops to 5th, 6th, 9th and 11th graders at the Boston Collegiate Charter School in Dorchester, MA. during the months of March and April.

The class consisted of an introduction to architectural thinking and problem solving in which students learned how to illustrate their creative ideas through floor plans, elevations, sections and models. The final presentation included a conceptual board of each team’s efforts and designs. Darguin Fortuna of Salem MA recalls that during the culminating event “A student’s mother came to me and said that I made a difference in a student’s life and he decided to become an architect because of this class”. In her words, “my son won’t stop talking about you and becoming an architect.”

The series of classes was implemented and sponsored by thanks to the Mass Cultural Council’s STARS Program, and the encouragement and passion of the Art teachers from Boston Collegiate Charter School, Michael Eder, Jenny Dubuisson and Claire Milnamow.
